Day 1 - Travel day

Having stayed over at the Copenhagen airport to be able to catch the early flight that would take us to Paris/CDG.
The evening before Agneta noticed she forgot to pack extra underwear. So the hunt was on first thing in the morning to find a shop on the airport.

One could say that was the first taste of adventure.
Lucky for her they open the shops at 6 in the morning.

From Copenhagen it's only a short hop (2h) to Paris. A short layover and we could board our next flight that would take us directly to Nairobi.
The tickets state Air France but the flight was operated by Air Kenya.
We had no idea what to expect of an African air company.
All potential worries were pretty quickly dismissed. The airplane was a modern 787 Dreamliner fully equipped with in flight entertainment.
The staff was really polite and helpful. Which I later would learn is very typical for Kenyans in general.

Late night arrival at Jomo Kenyatta airport in Kenya.
Here we got a taster of bureaucracy. Took probably 1.5h to get through the passport controls.
We had already applied for e-visas on Internet thus saving us that time.
Still the the queue was slowly crawling forward as each passenger should produce their paperwork and have their fingerprints taken.

Finally out of the airport we were met by an representative from Glory Safaris, she took us to the car that would be our mobile home for the next days to come.
This is also when we met with Ian who would be our driver/guide throughout the safari.
They drove us to Hotel Intercontinental  which which we call home for two nights.

With a combination of excitement and tiredness we went to bed our first night in Kenya.
